He is passionate about his work, and puts in a great deal of effort to make his lessons educational and not too dull. He keeps his power in check to make sure he doesn't have himself and others, in this way he is a very kind, caring person, full of consideration for others. Because of this he is a fairly respected man. There is another side of him though. The americans may call it the 'ghetto' in him. The side of him from the council estate is ruthless. If a child dares sleep in his class, the iron hammer of punishment comes out, and throws its full weight at the idiotic child that thinks he or she can sleep through his lessons. HOW DARE THEY! The punishment could be light, or it could be harsh, however it is always done in a way to cause embarrassment and not pain. At least not physical pain. HISTORY: Alex grew up on a dirty council estate in a dark part of London. He was constantly bullied for his intelligence, and was beat up on countless occasions by pretty much anyone that felt like it. It could be his family, his teachers, his classmates. Anyone and everyone. He was basically the estate punching bag. He did not have his powers from the day he was born, and they did not manifest until quite a long way into his days at university. After achieving the highest grades in his school for both his GCSE's and A-levels, Alex decided it was time for a decent university, and so travelled to America to study literacy. It was there that he discovered a man with a power. He had the power to read minds it seemed. He approached Alex one day, asking if he also had a power. Alex responded as anyone normal would "Hell you I don't!" Unfortunately for him he was wrong. Later on that year, he started recognising memories that he didn't remember having the day before. Birthdays randomly appeared in his mind, birthdays that he never had, with people he didn't know. It was painful, both emotionally and physically. It did not take him long to realise his power after that, and he spend long nights awake, learning to organise his thoughts, to put them into folders so he could be more efficient with his power. In his last year of university he developed his power further. He suggested to himself that if he can take memories by touch, surely he can implant them into other people. He was having trouble with the sheer amount of unusable memories floating around in his head at this time, and was forced into action. He tried it on one person unknowing of the results, the man he used it on fainted. When he awoke, the memories that weren't his swarmed him, they outweighed his own memories. This guy didn't have Alex's intelligence, nor his ability to order his thoughts so efficiently. He went mad and jumped off the room of the university. It took Alex a while to recover from what he had done. After university he travelled the world for two years, just exploring, and learning about himself. After his travels finished, he found out about this school for the gifted, and applied as an English Teacher. POWER -Memory Harvest- Alex can 'harvest' the memories of other people by touching them on the skin and activating it in his mind, it's like a switch in this sense. The memories that he takes have all the information extracted from them and then sorted into usable and unusable. These 'unusable memories' clutter his mind, and if he gains too many then it will make him confused and disorientated, sometimes a little nauseous. People exposed to this power often faint, however if Alex wishes this can be a painful experience as well, as taking the memory of ones parents or loved ones is emotionally traumatising. Such strong memories as this cannot be completely taken, as parents and siblings are a large part of peoples lives, however taking out the memory of ones twelfth birthday, as an example, is still possibleHe doesn't use this on anyone under the age of 21 without good reason. -Inception- To un-clutter his mind of these 'unusable memories', Alex can only send them into other people, either by returning the memory to someone else (as if it had never happened). However he can also bombard people with his own memories, or the memories he has gathered. Doing this for an extended amount of time causes amnesia for an unknown period of time, and even short amounts deteriorate his memory. He mainly uses this as mental protection, as this power doesn't need skin contact, but just eye contact from at furthest 20feet away. He can throw up a wall of insignificant memories to prevent his mind being read, or at least make it very difficult for an amateur, obviously a man on the same level as him would see through it easily. -Eidetic Memory- Simply, he can remember anything he reads, making him the perfect english teacher. He has a first degree in English, but also is very knowledgable in other subjects like maths, history, and other cultural subjects, including the languages. However he falls short at art. Very short. In fact if you found the runt of the litter in a family of bacterium, he would fall shorter than that poor little fella' when it comes to art. He sticks to the stick drawings to avoid scrutiny by his pupils, however even then he still seems to muck up...maybe he should just stick to words. When it comes to sport, Alex is pro basketball. He loves the sport, supported it, played it, learned the rules, he did everything to do with basketball when he was younger. Now when he arrived at this school for the gifted, he expected some kind of basketball club. BUT NO! There wasn't one. And this made him angry. He will have his club, even if he has to fight the principal in a death match, he will have his club.
